BITTERS & SODA

4-6 dashes of Bitters

Club soda or Seltzer

Combine all in a Highball or Collin’s glass over cubed ice.

Optional Garnish: Lime wedge or wheel

I love a Bitters & Soda. There's just something so delightful about the simple mix of the two. It's my drink for many occasions. It can be that "drink you drink when you're not drinking." That's light, aromatic, and refreshing. And generally costs only a couple of bucks, if not free at the bar. One that looks like a cocktail, and therefore can save you from the bothersome comments like "come on, get a drink."

It's also the drink that stops me from reaching my potential doom at the end of the night, and can save me from a hangover in the morning. There's some magical restorative powers in a Bitters & Soda. And I know I'm not alone with that belief. Like I said, a drink for many occasions. Simple, easy, and never disappoints.

And yeah–how to make it? It's exactly how it sounds. 4-6 dashes of bitters and then top with some club soda or seltzer. You can play with any kind of bitters for this concoction, but I generally go with a classic Angostura Bitters and sometimes Peychaud's.
