Hip to the Hop.
"I said a hip hop, the hippie, the hippie, to the hip, hip hop, and you don't stop, a rock it.."
Happy Easter to all my fellow drinking bunnies! I can't say that I've been super successful on my hunt, but what I can say, is that I have at least spotted one egg-cellent cocktail today. (Hehe. See what I did there?) This is a perfect cocktail for the Spring time–embodying a pomegranate rum, herbs and oranges into a sweet tune that keeps you hoppin' about.
Bar de Bex is on a little adventure this weekend (aka, I went home for the holiday) meaning that I'm currently away from my usual plethora of boozy bottles. This is something I think many of us cocktail crafters get faced with. When you're somewhere and you want to concoct, but what you have access to is limited. Ah, challenge accepted. If you've found yourself in this situation, don't rush creativity. Gander over your options and keep in mind of things that stand out. If you take the time to smell and taste, you'll surprise yourself with what you can make out of strangers. I did some surprising of myself with this little creation–from what I found in the hidden depths of my childhood home. Built around this wonderful handcrafted pomegranate rum made by my mom's friend, Diane–I was able to make this joyous cocktail for this joyous weekend. And I am very happy. And as long as you make a drink that makes you happy, you're victorious.
Cheers to all and to all a Happy Easter!

- 2 oz Pomegranate Rum
- 1.5 oz Orange

*Shake all ingredients with ice vigorously and then strain into a rocks glass (or something equivalent in size) over fresh ice cubes.
