Yo-yo, Novo Fogo.
It's a Summer kind of Spring day.
A yet-to-be-titled cocktail, but definitely one inspired by Summer on this glorious Spring day.
When I got home from work today, I was not even remotely motivated to workout. I was tired. Hungry. Annoyed. You know, work things that you take home with you after an unexpected busy day. But then I looked outside. And the sun was all like, "Hey, life ain't that bad." And I was all like, you're right, sun." So I strapped on my shoes and had a reviving evening run around my lake (aka Lake Merritt, Oakland. Also, not technically "my lake" but let's just look past that.) And then just like that, my day had transformed.
As you know, after you workout, you're supposed to hydrate yourself. I know that it's not recommended to hydrate with a cocktail...but the heart wants what the heart wants. And if I was going to continue on this path of turning my day around...it only seemed right. So! This refreshing and bright drank is a thirst-quencher for sure. Novo Fogo does it best when it comes to cachaca, so I highly suggest using those gems when creating this delightful orange, lime, falernum splash. Turn your day to sunny-side up and kick back with this glass of happiness.
Let's concoct:
- 2 oz Novo Fogo Cachacas
- 1 oz Orange
- 0.5 oz Lime
- 0.25 oz Agave
- 0.25 oz Velvet Falernum
- Club Soda
*Muddle fruit then add remaining ingredients. Shake with cracked ice and dump into a Collin's glass (or something similar). Top with club soda and garnish with a small orange slice on a pick.
