Eastern Sour
EASTERN SOUR
1.5 oz Bourbon
1 oz Orange Juice
0.5 oz Lemon Juice
0.25 oz Orgeat
Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously to chill. Strain over a large fresh ice cube in a rocks glass. Garnish with lemon and orange. (Only lemon shown here…my orange wasn’t looking great at the time…)
So. I’ve been exploring the wonderfulness and easiness of Easy Tiki over the past couple of weeks. I’ve had this cocktail book for quite some time now, but only recently have really dove into it. Aaaand results are in: I love it.
For those who are curious about tiki concoctions but feel intimidated by, well...the vastness of tiki culture, the seemingly endless lists of rums, and syrups/mixers that feel out of your league—this is a great book if for you. With a very lovely and approachable breakdown of tiki drinks, how-tos on making syrups, and a great list of cocktail recipes (that are all 6 ingredients or less!) - it’s incredibly welcoming, especially to the home bartenders out there. 🙌🏻
Drink photographed here (with an ever-so-slight Bex twist on the garnish), is the delightful Eastern Sour. Which is a stellar combo of bourbon, orange, lemon, and orgeat. I’ve always loved this drink, and it’s definitely becoming a frequent flyer over here at Bar De Bex this summer. #cheers #tikitime 🤙🏻
