Singapore Sling.

A personal favorite of Bar De Bex.

Singapore Sling.

Ah, I just love this one.

This is a classic drink that just makes me feel good inside.

Originally created way back at the turn of the 20th century, at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore--the "Singapore Sling" still stays fresh in the hearts of many. I know to some, cocktails in the tropical category seem to only mean one thing: rum. Well. Think again! This juicy gin mixture full of fruity and herbal notes will send you sailing just the same. The Singapore Sling is one of many faces, though it has it's traditional ways of coming together, everywhere you go you're likely to get a new experience. But I mean...what is life, if not to get as many experiences as possible? Eh?

Let's concoct:

  • 1 oz Gin
  • .5 oz Cherry Heering (Cherry Liqueur)
  • .25 oz Cointreau (Orange Liqueur)
  • .25 oz Benedictine
  • .5 oz Lime
  • .25 oz Grenadine
  • 2 oz Pineapple
  • Bitters

*Add all ingredients, shake well with cubed ice. Fine strain into a highball glass with fresh crushed ice. Garnish with a cherry (or two if you're feeling adventurous) on a pick. (Usually in addition with a pineapple wedge, leaf or orange slice...but didn't have it at the time...my b)
