Grinning Sunshine.
Oh, I see you...
Grinning Sunshine.
With every little taste of bourbon, there's a little taste of dreams that come with it. There's the sense of adventure and excitement that eggs that sip on--and you want to dabble with the possibilities.
Well then, let's play this game, you and I. And when I mean you and I, I'm obviously talking to the bourbon in my hand. Ah, bourbon. If it hasn't been expressed enough by myself, it's a damn delicious beast full of wonderment. Is there anything this flavorful spirit can't do? Exactly. Therefore, mixing this with lavender and blueberries? Why the hell not?
And since I'm still super into the lavender syrup I made not too long ago--I decided to keep the creativity flowing with it as well. So here’s “Grinning Sunshine” to add to the list of summer cocktail grooviness. Keeping it light and lovely with hints of some floral and light fruit, you’ll find yourself grinning right back at that sun. Better put those stunna shades on to keep up.
Let's concoct:
- 2 oz Bourbon
- 1/2 oz Lavender syrup
- 8 Blueberries
- Club soda
*Lightly muddle blueberries. Add in bourbon and lavender. Shake with ice and fine strain into rocks or highball glass filled with crushed ice. Splash on club soda. Add more crushed add to top it off. Garnish with blueberries on a pick.
Here's an idea: Don't like bourbon? (Um, why...) That's okay! Sub out for a gin or vodka to get more of those lavender and blueberry notes. Add 1/4 oz of lime too if you want to give it more of a tartness kick.
