Sounds About Rye.

Sounds About Rye.

From one of those days when I had just enough rye to make somethin' to sip on while I was chillin' in my bitchin' bachelorette pad. I know I say this a lot, but trying to beat the sun with whiskey can be tough. But there are ways to make such a bold spirit light for the summer. So for those who love whiskey but find it hard to keep it refreshing in this heat, I made this for you.

"Sounds About Rye" is a perfect summer cocktail for you those who love whiskey and more of those floral notes. A good drink that feels like you're embracing the outdoors...for indoors... With sweetness of pear, elderflower and a dabble of roses, it'll get you into gear. An interesting mix that I can't say I've done before. But I guess the summer is a time for randomness, and sometime the unexpected, so may this be just another one of those kinds of things.

Let's concoct:

  • 2 oz Rye Whiskey
  • 0.5 oz Pear Liqueur
  • 0.25 oz St. Germain
  • 0.25 oz Agave
  • 3 dashes of Rose Water

*Shake and strain with ice into a rocks glass with a fresh large ice cube. Garnish with orange zest and peel.
