House Warming.
We all interpret change differently. Some of us open our arms wide and take on the full embrace, and some of us shy away in attempts to avoid it until that absolute final moment. How I accept change varies on the circumstance, as I think many of us can agree with. But what can always make a change a little bit easier is having an element of familiarity in that transition. Some form of security that says, hey, it's all going to be okay in the end. I think we can acknowledge how little reminders can go a lot way and little slivers of comfort can keep a mind positive. So what the hell does this have to do with cocktails? Everything, my friend. We drink and feelβand we feel and drink. And as I currently am going through some changes in my life, I wanted to create a cocktail that was welcoming and helped me feel a little more grounded.
"House Warming" is an uplifting and cloud-like cocktail of honey, lavender and gin. With the refreshing and warmth of lavender and honey, this cocktail is one that sings you welcome and gives you that sigh of relief. However change may be knocking on your door, here's a drink that's ready for it.
Let's concoct:
- 2 oz Gin
- 0.75 oz Honey Liqueur
- 0.5 oz Lavender Syrup
- 0.25 oz Lemon Juice
- Egg White
*Dry shake all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Then add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously to chill your drink. Fine strain (double strain) into a chilled coupe glass.
